With Thanksgiving almost upon us, it’s a great time to ask ourselves what we’re thankful for. With our friends and family around us, we celebrate the blessings given to us in the past year. Our staff thought we’d ask: What are you thankful for this holiday season? Do you have any Thanksgiving wishes or recipes you would like to share?
Our entire team would like to wish you a safe and happy Thanksgiving. It’s a big food holiday, so be careful what you eat with those braces! If you have any stories or photos to share with us, we’d encourage you to send them along or post them below or on our Facebook page!

October is National Orthodontic Health Month, and with Halloween this weekend we have compiled a list of specific treats that are okay with braces. As with anything else, always in moderation and make sure to brush and floss very well after!
Good Treats:
- Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
- Kit Kats
- Plain M&M’s
- Oreo’s & Soft Cookies
- Hershey Bars & Hershey Kisses
- Candy Bars without caramel or nuts
Those will keep your braces safe, but don't forget to keep these Trick-or-treating safety guidelines in mind while you are out there filling your candy bags:
- Young children should always be accompanied by an adult
- Carry a flashlight
- Wear a light-colored or reflective costume
- Choose face paint over masks for young ghosts and goblins
- Have an adult inspect all treats before the children dig in
- Have a Happy and Safe Halloween!

We are excited to partner with Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center as the "Big Back Yard" series sponsor.
The "Big Back Yard" series encourages families to get outside and explore the outdoors to search for colorful leaves and tiny insects that roam the forest floor. Kids get to learn about local species and how they prepare for their winter-long hibernation.
This series allows kids and adults to learn more about their natural surroundings with each program covering topics related to the holidays; such as learning about spiders and bats and their importance to our ecosystem and about how turkeys are New Hampshire's largest birds!

Happy World Smile Day!
"As is well known by now throughout the world Harvey Ball, a commercial artist from Worcester, Massachusetts created the smiley face in 1963. That image went on to become the most recognizable symbol of good will and good cheer on the planet.
As the years passed Harvey Ball became concerned about the over-commercialization of his symbol, and how its original meaning and intent had become lost in the constant repetition of the marketplace. Out of that concern came his idea for World Smile Day®. He thought that we, all of us, should devote one day each year to smiles and kind acts throughout the world. The smiley face knows no politics, no geography, and no religion. Harvey’s idea was that for at least one day each year, neither should we. He declared that the first Friday in October each year would henceforth be World Smile Day®. Ever since that first World Smile Day® held in 1999, it has continued every year in Smiley's hometown of Worcester, MA and around the world."
Get out there and show off your beautiful smile today (and every day)! :)
